How Can Restorative Practices Lower School to Prison Pipeline for Black Male Students?

Recent research identified four connecting amalgamated insights schools must consider in order to transform school culture and motivate students to grow authentically:

  1.  Zero tolerance policies have racially biased outcomes that violate the ethics of schooling
  2. Racism kindles a cycle of unacknowledged and unaddressed trauma for Black male students,
  3. Restorative Practices disarms the cycle of trauma for Black male students
  4. Cultural Restorative Practices offer Black male students the reparatory refuge needed to find their authentic selves.

These determinations emerged from a collective and divergent voices of Restorative Practices' past students, staff and experts I did the research.  The informants were rich in knowledge and wisdom. Lets now begin to understand what they taught us.
