Recent research identified four connecting amalgamated insights schools must consider in order to transform school culture and motivate students to grow authentically:
Zero tolerance policies have racially biased outcomes that violate the ethics of schooling, which fuels the School to Prison Pipeline for Black males.
Racism kindles a cycle of unacknowledged and unaddressed trauma for Black male students.
Restorative Practices disarms the cycle of trauma for Black male students and Cultural Restorative Practices offer Black male students "Reparatory Refuge".
Reparatory Refuge is a safe place to heal from trauma while developing skills to overcome the dysfunction caused by racism, rediscover true identity, increase emotional intelligence and discover one's authentic self.
